Our goal, at Mayflower Trading Company, is to offer the highest quality product at the lowest possible price to assist our customers in becoming self reliant. We offer practical knowledge acquired from years of personal experience. We promote responsible stewardship of natural resources and encourage others in their to journey to independence. We do not keep a large inventory of products that we want to "unload" on our customers, but rather have a wide variety of resources so that we can provide you with the products you need. We feel that objectivity is critical since every site is unique and the natural resources available vary with location, therefore we take the time to help you evaluate your circumstance and assist you to acquire the appropriate equipment.

We have been inspired by our agriculturally minded, freedom loving forebears of the seventeenth century. They began their journey in tight quarters with limited provisions. They displayed unmatched courage and faith in spite of hardships and utilized available resources to provide for themselves and those to follow, establishing a foundation for the greatest nation under God. While we recognize a "return to the land" can push some people beyond their endurance, we believe that everyone can acquire some level of independence suitable to their environment. Mayflower Trading Company supports and encourages anyone who desires to utilize unconventional (or should that be conventional?) sources.

The Office

We have practiced various forms of homesteading for 26 years, namely gardening, poultry and home food preservation.  We have lived for 13 years utilizing alternative energy sources in a climate that can be somewhat challenging.  

Sometimes you have to look for the humor...

In these uneasy times of "war and economic downturn", not to mention disease, pestilence and environmental turmoil; we like to maintain a sense of humor, knowing that "With God, all things are possible."

 Technology can be a double edged sword; for example, we appreciate the great strides made in recent decades in the area of photovoltaics, inverters and other alternative energy system components.  The electric food processor is the greatest invention ever when you have 150 pounds of onions waiting to be dehydrated!  The internet has allowed us to help numerous people in their quest for the "country life", forcing us to use these confounded machines.  

We KNOW that with patience and perseverance, people can have an independent life-style.
