A pilgrimage to resource efficiency

What do you want for Christmas?

“Whirled peas” – Miss America contestant
There is so much going on in this world that trying to keep up with it all is like binge watching Game of Thrones and The Lord of the Rings series simultaneously while reading the stock market ticker at the bottom of Bloomberg TV. Between mainstream media reporting and social media censoring vs alternative news sources quoting a plethora of experts on the Covid pandemic while our friends and neighbors go bankrupt, the election results controversy with more and more abnormalities showing up daily, the Chinese influence on our legislators, involvement in our technology, security and in our economy, and the World Economic Council planning a Great Reset … a person could go insane. Wow, that was a really long sentence with a lot of commas, maybe I’m there. At least we don’t have anyone rioting, looting and destroying entire cities right now – it must be the Christmas Spirit.

“Unto you is born this day in the city of David a savior which is Christ the Lord.” – Luke 2:11

Have we ever needed saving more than now?

So, what do we do? Stock up on food and toilet paper, pay off debt, buy N95 masks and ammo? Pray? For what?

“And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” – John 8:32

Absolutely! In the midst of this quagmire, let’s admit we don’t really KNOW what’s going on and pray for TRUTH to be known by all. I’d love to see this mess from God’s point of view.

“For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.” – Luke 12:2

Even if we knew what’s really going on, could we understand it? Best ask for understanding to go with the knowledge. After all, what good is a blender without electricity?

To complete the set, we need WISDOM. With wisdom we would know what to DO (verb, action word) with what we know and understand.

So, those are the gifts I’m requesting this Christmas. In the meantime, I’ll clean out the closets. How about you?
