Split Green Peas – #10 Can

Split green peas are the main ingredient in split green pea soup, humus, or pea and ham soup. They are also often used to add color to dishes.

A green split pea with a mild flavor and soft texture. It comes from the core of the whole green peas and cooks easily and quickly. They have high nutritional values and a long shelf life that make them a great choice for food storage.

Shelf Life:

Should be stored in cool dark place – optimum condition is 60 degrees or less – for longer storage. Product should store for 15 years if stored properly.

Directions for Use:

Add 1 cup water to 1/3 cup split peas and simmer over low heat for 45 minutes.  May be add to casseroles and soups.

Can also be sprouted.
